Kim Scott Mathers, the ex-wife of rapper Eminem, appeared in court in New Baltimore, Michigan, on Monday and entered a no contest plea to two misdemeanor charges: operating a vehicle while impaired, and failure to stop after a collision. Her sentencing is scheduled for June 17, 2026.
The incident happened on February 16. According to the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office, Mathers was driving a white Range Rover when she struck a silver Dodge Ram pickup truck parked on a residential street in Chesterfield Township. The impact pushed the parked truck roughly 50 feet. Mathers allegedly did not stop, drove back to her house, and crashed into her garage door while doing so. Neighbours witnessed the accident and called police. Officers who responded noted what they described as signs of intoxication, and a breath test reportedly registered a blood alcohol level of 0.079 percent, just below the legal limit of 0.08, but still within the range for the operating-while-impaired charge. Her son Parker and several of his friends were allegedly in the vehicle at the time of the incident.
In a no contest plea, the defendant neither admits nor denies guilt but accepts the court’s sentencing — a common approach in cases where civil liability is a concern.
Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido released Mathers’ mugshot alongside a statement emphasising that impaired driving is “a deliberate decision that puts every person on the road at risk.”
Mathers, 51, and Eminem share daughter Hailie Jade, 30. The pair were married in 1999, divorced in 2001, briefly remarried in 2006, and divorced again the same year. This is not her first legal matter of this nature — she has a documented history of similar incidents stretching back to 2003. Her sentencing hearing is now the one to watch.
