Celine Dion Is Going Back on Stage — and Paris Nearly Broke the Internet When She Said So

There are comebacks, and then there is Celine Dion walking back onto a stage. For the millions of fans who watched her 2024 documentary I Am: Celine Dion — and saw what her battle with stiff person syndrome actually cost her physically and emotionally — the announcement of her Paris residency wasn’t just entertainment news. It was something closer to a collective exhale.

Announced on March 30, 2026 — Dion’s own birthday — in an emotional video message broadcast beneath the lights of the Eiffel Tower, Celine Dion Paris 2026 will be a 16-show residency at the Paris La Défense Arena. The engagement runs from September 12 through October 17, with shows on Wednesdays and Saturdays throughout the five-week run.

In 2022, Dion publicly revealed she had been diagnosed with stiff person syndrome, a rare neurological condition that causes progressive muscle stiffness and painful spasms, which forced her to cancel her Courage World Tour and step away from live performance entirely. A source close to her had told CNN at the time that she would “likely never tour again.” Her 2024 documentary showed her working through brutal physical therapy sessions to reclaim her voice, and the struggle was real.

The run was originally announced as 10 shows, with six additional dates added due to extraordinary demand — a sign of just how much appetite there is for her return. The residency will feature her most beloved hits in both French and English, with creative direction from award-winning show designer Willo Perron.

Dion has performed publicly since her diagnosis — she sang at the 2024 Paris Olympics opening ceremony and appeared at a Saudi fashion event — but this marks her first full headlining run in six years. Paris is a fitting choice: the city has always felt like a second home for her, and the La Défense Arena is Europe’s largest indoor venue.
