It has been over a month since the internet first found out that Hailee Steinfeld and Josh Allen had welcomed their daughter — and until last week, nobody had seen so much as a toe. That changed on May 11, when Steinfeld posted a belated Mother’s Day tribute that gave fans the first real glimpse of the couple’s baby girl.
The couple had originally announced their daughter’s birth on April 2 via Steinfeld’s Beau Society Substack newsletter, titled “Special Delivery.” “Our baby girl has arrived!!” they wrote together. “We’re feeling incredibly grateful and blessed and savouring these early moments.”
The May 11 post, captioned simply “A day late — but simply obsessed with this,” featured a series of photos: one showing their daughter’s tiny hand holding Steinfeld’s finger as she lay on a white blanket, glimpses of her feet in a newborn onesie, and a tender close-up of mother and daughter. No face shots were included — a decision that prompted spirited debate in the comments, with most fans firmly landing on the side of letting the couple have this one private.
The baby’s name has not been publicly revealed. However, Steinfeld has hinted in past newsletters at a nickname — “Baby Beau” — which traces back to a childhood nickname her own parents gave her. Whether it becomes the baby’s actual name remains unknown.
Steinfeld, 29, and Allen, the Buffalo Bills quarterback, married in a private California ceremony on May 31, 2025, after getting engaged in November 2024. Their pregnancy announcement in December 2025 — a video of Allen kissing her bump in the snow while she wore a sweater reading “Mother” — was one of the most heartwarming celebrity moments of late last year.
Hailee’s Sinners co-star Michael B. Jordan had given her a shoutout at the Oscars in March, thanking her from the stage while she stayed home preparing to give birth: “Hailee at home — she’s getting ready to have a baby right now.” Four Oscars later, Baby Beau arrived right on schedule.
